Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Please reach out if you have further questions. We are happy to help!

What's the difference between the Membership Plan and the Buy 10 Get 1 Free Package?

The Membership Plan ($32/visit) is a recurring weekly commitment — great if you need consistent walks on a regular schedule.

The Buy 10 Get 1 Free Package is prepaid and flexible — use the visits whenever you need them within 6 months of purchase.

Both save you money compared to pay-as-you-go rates.

What happens if I need to cancel a visit?

It depends on the service. For dog walking, we need at least 48 hours notice — cancellations within 48 hours are charged in full. For pet sitting (when you're out of town), cancellations 7+ days before your start date get the deposit refund; less than 7 days and the 50% deposit is non-refundable. Membership visits have no cancellation fee — cancelled visits convert to a credit you can use within 4 weeks.

How do you handle home access?

We recommend using a lockbox to keep your physical key secure on the premises. For any codes, like alarms, garages, or gates, we ask that you keep them updated on your Time to Pet profile. If we can’t access your home, the visit is still charged.

How do I pay?

Payments are made through Time to Pet. We ask that you keep a card on file. We do not accept cash or checks, unless as a tip for the team member.

What areas do you serve?

We're based out of the 78248 area and provide services within a 10-mile radius at no extra charge. We do serve clients outside that range — 10–15 miles adds a $10 travel fee, 15–20 miles adds $15, and anything beyond 20 miles gets a custom quote. Just reach out and we'll let you know!

What if my pet's profile isn't updated before I leave for a trip?

Your pet's profile needs to be current in Time to Pet before service begins — it's how we make sure your pet gets the right care. If you leave without updating it and we have to track down that information on your behalf, a $25 Pet Profile Organization fee will automatically be charged to your card on file. We're happy to help get it organized, but we need accurate info to do our best work.

What kind of pets do you care for?

We take care of dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, fish, rabbits, reptiles, chickens, and pocket pets.

Can I schedule visits ahead of time?

Yes! Pre-book your dates, but remember, your visit isn’t confirmed until the deposit is received. We encourage booking as far in advance as possible. A 50% deposit secures your dates, and the remaining 50% is due on the first day of service.

We also offer a membership for daily dog walks with 2 or more consecutive visits per week, which includes priority booking. Please note that same-day or next-day visit requests incur a $10 service fee.

How do I make sure my pets are safe?

We ask that pets have up-to-date vaccinations, ID tags or microchips, and that you share any allergies, behavior issues, or special needs in your Time to Pet profile. Also, we ask that you ensure all supplies, medication, and food are fully stocked before your departure. This helps us keep everyone happy and safe!

What if there’s an emergency?

We’ll try to reach you first, then your local emergency contacts. If no one is available, we’ll get veterinary care to keep your pet safe. We're also partners with Pets First Veterinary Center

I have a special needs pet, can you help?

Every pet has unique needs. Contact so we can see how we can help. If we can't, we will help find someone who can! We network with a lot of local pet care companies.

Can I schedule a meet and greet?

Yes! We require a meet and greet prior to service to become familiar with your pet(s), their routine, diet instructions, environment, and make sure we're a good fit to set your pet up for success. It's also the start of creating a long-term relationship with you and your pet.

Please note that the team member completing the meet and greet may or may not be the same team member doing the visits.

What makes you different from other professionals or a hobby sitter?

Great question! We take pride in our award-winning services, continuing education, and team training. This is our livelihood, our career, not a side gig. We are proud Texas Pet Sitter Association members, Pet Sitter International members, insured and bonded, certified in Cat and Dog First Aid and CPR, and have backup plans in case of emergencies.

What services do you offer?

We provide personalized in-home pet care.  We offer pet sitting, drop-in visits, dog walking, almost overnight visits, pet taxi, and adventure walks! All out of services can be found on our services page.

We do it all! Companionship, feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter/waste cleanup, giving medications, and even little household tasks like watering plants or checking the mail. You only pay for the time to complete the routine! We do not charge for extra pets or medication administration.

Who takes care of my pets?

Only our trained, background-checked, and insured Paw Time Favorite employees will care for your pets. We do not use contractors.

Can I request a specific pet sitter/ dog walker?

You’ll always get a trained Paw Time Favorite employee. We work as a team to provide consistent quality care. All employees are background checked, insured, and bonded.

What if bad weather happens?

Safety first! Walks may be modified, or indoor/outdoor potty breaks substituted during storms, heat waves, or emergencies.

What is your holiday fee?

As our team is in high demand during the busiest times of the year (summer and holidays), there is a $10 holiday/peak surcharge per visit.

How long have you been around?

We have been serving San Antonio since late 2023 and won the 2024 Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite Award. We are so thankful to all of our amazing clients for their support and for making this possible.
